Full course description
This is a 4-week online course taking place from July 6 to August 30.
This course is an overview of basic concepts of residential construction to include site planning, floor plans, room planning, wall sections, roof types and elevation of single-story and multi-story structures. This course will explore residential drafting techniques, commands and terminology, color matching, shadow development, and cabinet detailing using CAD software.
After completing this course, you will be able to:
- Recognize features of both traditional and contemporary architectural styles.
- Use an AutoCAD system to create architectural drawings.
- Identify the types of elevations and sections used in architectural drawings.
- Use proper architectural dimensioning and labeling techniques.
